Eugene A. Plonski Sr., 94, of Mishawaka passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. Eugene was born in South Bend, IN on April 23, 1928, to the late Joseph and Mary (Wozniak) Plonski. On September 1, 1951, in St. Joseph Church in Mishawaka, he married the late Marjorie J. Taghon who preceded him in death on September 22, 2007. He is survived by his children, Mary-Frances (Michael) Alonzo, Robert (Vickie) Plonski, James (Joan) Plonsey and Eugene (Debbie) Plonski Jr.; grandchildren Jennifer (Eric) Fischer, Andy (Kristen) Plonski, Melissa (Margie) Plonski, Suzanne (Jeff) Barnett, Joseph (Katie) Plonski, Audrey and Grace Plonski, Timothy Plonsey, Jacalyn (Hilary) Smith, Alex (Bryttni) Cimo, Bianca Cimo; great grandchildren Caitlynn Fischer, Brayden, Norah, Landen, and Graysen Plonski, Sawyer and Piper Barnett, Catherine and Michael Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; siblings, Matthew, Albin, Leonard, Chester, Pearl and Mary; and his companion, Patricia Spitaels. Eugene was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. He loved to fish and travel. He was passionate about history and sharing he and his family’s past adventures. His favorite hobby was playing cards with his friends in their homes or at the BK Club. He especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 pm-7 pm, Friday, August 19th, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, August 20th at St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545 with a 1 hour lay in at Hahn Funeral Home prior to mass. Family is requesting that masks be work during the visitation and the mass.
