Thadausz C. "Ted" Mackowski, 89, of New Carlisle, Ind., passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006, in the Dyer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Dyer, Ind. Ted was born on June 9, 1917, in New Carlisle, Ind., to Frank and Sophie (Rozwarski) Mackowski. On November 10, 1945, he married Helen (Wilczynski), who preceded him in death in 1993 after 48 years of marriage. Also preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Edmund. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Ed) Banas of St. John, Ind.; two grandsons, Mark (Karen) Banas of Plainfield, Ill., and Ryan (Erica) Banas of Indianapolis; and one great-grandson, Kyle Banas.
Ted was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church all of his life. He was a farmer and retired factory worker, and retired from Uniroyal Inc. in 1984. He was a loving father and grandfather, and he loved his farm.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
