MISHAWAKA - David Anthony Hosinski, 73, passed away Friday at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, IN after a brief illness. David was married on June 20, 1959 to the former Margaret L. Pinter who survives of Mishawaka. He is survived by his seven children: Mary Beth (Duffy) Burns and Thomas (Christine) Hosinski both of Sylvania, Ohio; Kenneth of South Bend; Karen (Matthew) Payton, Joseph (Holly) Hosinski; Robert (Maureen) Hosinski and Anne (Jonathan) Watson all of Granger. He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Amanda, Daniel, Jane and David Payton; Nicholas, Allison, Jason and Andrew Hosinski; Kyle and Megan Burns; Evan and Grace Hosinski; Molly, Nora and Teddy Hosinski and Claire and Madeline Watson; one brother, Ronald G. (Elizabeth) Hosinski of South Bend and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria (Jankowski) and Frederick Louis Hosinski. Dave attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and South Bend Catholic/St. Joseph High School in South Bend where he met his wife of 53 years. They were married on June 20, 1959 at the former Sacred Heart Church, South Bend. Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Notre Dame in 1959 and from the Notre Dame Law School in 1963. Dave worked for over 25 years at the St. Joseph Bank in South Bend as Vice President and Senior Trust Officer. In 1988, he co-founded the Indiana Trust and Investment Management Company, the first non-bank trust firm in Indiana, from which he retired in 2009. He was an active member in the community and served on the boards of Samaritan Center, Hospice of St. Joseph County and many others. Dave lived a life full of joy. He found joy first in his family, whom he was surrounded by at his passing. He valued his family above all and was an inspiring example of what it means to be a good husband, father and mentor. He was a faith filled man and led his family and his business with integrity, quiet confidence and a servant's heart. He shared his love of basketball by coaching his children and grandchildren for many years. He was proud of all his grandchildren's various talents. He loved to ski, and traveled for many years to Vail, CO. He enjoyed many summer family vacations at South Haven, MI and took great pride in his yard and home. He loved all things Notre Dame. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 24 from 4 to 8pm at McGann Hay Funeral Homes, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter on Cherry Rd.) . The Vigil Service time for Tuesday will be announced later. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 25 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with visitation one hour before the Mass. Burial will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
