Esther Gromski March 1, 1917 - Oct. 25, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Esther Gromski, 97, passed away at 2:42 am Saturday, October 25, 2014, in the Milton Home. Esther was born March 1, 1917, in South Bend, to the late John and Pearl (Urbanski) Tafelski. On May 29, 1939, Esther married William Gromski, who preceded her in death on October 1, 2007. Esther was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald. Survivors include sister, Dorothy Dlugosz; granddaughter, Kathy Close; great-grandson, Matthew Close; brother-in-law, Walter Gromski; sister-in-law, Florence Gromski, and many nieces and nephews. Esther was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. She worked at Torrington, enjoying playing cards and keeping up with current events and news. Visitation for Esther will be 9-11am Tuesday, October 28, 2014, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed. A Funeral Service will be at 11 am.
