EDWARDSBURG - Dorothy A. Skronski, 84 years old, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest May 18, 2017 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, after an illness. She was born Feb. 5, 1933 in North Judson, IN, the daughter of Gustave and Nellie (Anderson) Dubas. She came to this area in the mid 1950's. One of her greatest enjoyments was to attain an Associate Degree at Southwestern Michigan College and become a Pharmacy Technician, having worked locally for Klingler's Pharmacy and Don Elder Pharmacy. Dorothy was married July 14, 1951 in North Judson to Edwin F. Skronski and he passed Dec. 21, 1981. Surviving are her children, Liz ‘Bette' Skronski of Grand Rapids and Mark (Geri) Skronski of Niles and a granddaughter, Stacey (Kraig) Critzer of Dowagiac and two great-grandchildren. She has a sister, Diane Straughn of Granger and a brother, Donald (Phyllis) Dubas of Highland Ranch, CO. Family who have passed are her parents and her beloved husband, Edwin. Dorothy lived in the Edwardsburg Community for many years. She was very active in Girl Scouts, The Edwardsburg Community Service Club, Monday Evening Club, The Red Hat Society, The Edwardsburg Golden Agers, several of the area Book Clubs, and she was one of the founders of the Edwardsburg Area Historical Museum. In her spare time she loved to read, travel, study history, and spend time with her cat, Bella. She had a large collection of ‘camel' figurines, which was her hobby. Family and friends may gather on Monday from 5-8 PM, May 22, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 US-12 East, Edwardsburg. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 PM. The Service is Tuesday at 11:00 AM, where all may gather for one hour before the service at the church. Officiating will be Father Joe McCormick, pastor. Interment will follow in the Adamsville Cemetery by her late husband. Memorial donations may be directed to the Edwardsburg Area Historical Museum, P.O. Box 694, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0694. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
