Mary Theresa Sauer, 77, of US 20, South Bend IN, passed away after an illness at 6:45pm on Tuesday, January 26, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Sauer was born on March 17, 1921, in South Bend, as the daughter of the late Emil and Madeline (DeSerranno) VanWynsberghe. She was a lifelong area resident. In 1939, in South Bend, as the former Mary VanWynsberghe, she married Frank Joseph Sauer, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Sauer is survived by a sister, Delores (Richard) Wilson of South Bend; three nieces, Janice Kent, Julie Allouch and Joyce (Michael) Davis; a nephew, Lawrence (Sally) Weeks; and four grandnieces, Monica Davis, Jessica Davis, Melissa Croteau and Meranda Canady. Mrs. Sauer was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company in the credit department until her retirement in 1978. Previous to her employment with Sears Roebuck & Company, she worked for Berg Jewelry Store, South Bend...Friends may call from 12 to 2pm on Friday, January 29, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka IN. Funeral services will be at 2pm in the funeral home with Rev. Earl Rynearson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
