MISHAWAKA - Daniel Leroy Riffle, 64, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017. Daniel was born on February 13, 1952 in South Bend to Marvin Leroy and Dorothy Mae (Maness) Riffle. Daniel was preceded in death by his father. In March 1972 in South Bend, he married the former Teresa Clayton. Surviving are his loving wife, Teresa; his mother, Dorothy Ritchie; sons, Daniel Leroy (Charity) Riffle II of Osceola and Joseph Edward (Lisa) Riffle of Crown Point, IN; eight grandchildren, Daniel III (Katlyn), Zachary (Steffanie), Nathan, Brandon, Dylan, Emma, Stella and Ava; a great grandsons, Easton and Eathann; sisters, Carol (Michael) Miller of Mishawaka and Mary Ellen (Scott) Plasterer of Elkhart and a brother, Eugene (Barb) Marlay of North Carolina and also numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel was a Freight Handler for Airborne for 18 years before he retired in 2005. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved sports, especially IU and Notre Dame; he enjoyed country music and loved birds. But most of all he loved his grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, January 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
