SOUTH BEND - Conrad L. Rajski, 86, of South Bend, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24th, in Silverbrook Manor Nursing Center in Niles, Michigan, after an extended illness. Mr. Rajski was born on August 22, 1921, in South Bend, and resided in the Michiana area his lifetime. On August 5, 1950, in St. Joseph County, IN, he married the former Helen M. Michael, who preceded him in death on December 5, 2001. He is survived by a wonderful, loving daughter, Fran E. (David) Marshall of South Bend; and by three wonderful sons, Gerald F. (Sue) Rajski, Conrad A. Rajski and Mark A. (Vicky) Rajski, all of South Bend. Also surviving are his grandchildren whom he loved and cherished, Shelly and Andrea Marshall, and Gregory Rajski. Also his two great-grandchildren, Anthony Garcia and Tyler Rajski; sisters, Delores Stephens and Barbara Soleta, both of South Bend; and three brothers, Archie, Cleland and Chester Rajski, all of South Bend. Mr. Rajski was a self-employed mechanic. Conrad was preceded in death by his loving wife, and by a grandson, Jeffrey F. Rajski, on June 19, 1998. Mr. Rajski was a very caring, loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family. He was a member of the NRA and DAV and was a WWII Army veteran. Conrad's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service honoring his life, which his loving family honored. Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28th, in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/ Indiana 23, South Bend. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, all memorial contributions may be made to In-House Hospice Solutions, 5360 Holiday Terrace, Suite 24-A, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Rajski family.
