Kimberly Wendowski
Jan. 16, 1958 - Nov. 25, 2014
OSCEOLA - Kimberly Ann Wendowski, 56, of Osceola, left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. She was born in Mishawaka, the daughter of Forest "Dink" Henderson and Patsy (Connor) Henderson. Kimberly married Gregory Thomas Wendowski in 1984, and they have five daughters. She was preceded by her brother, Steven Henderson. Kimberly is survived by her parents, Forest and Pat; her husband, Greg; her five daughters, Heather Crull (Larry) of Elkhart, Samantha Maxwell (Ross) of Elkhart, Elizabeth Ruiz (David) of Osceola, Melissa Trivett (Mark) of Elkhart and Anna Wendowski of Osceola; her two sisters, Lynda Ward (Kenny) and Karen Squadroni (Bruce); a brother, Scott Henderson (Jill); her 12 grandchildren, Kodey, Jakob, Charlie, Anthony, Sheridan, Lilyann & Delylah "Bo" Maxwell, Carmen, Chloe & Brayden Crull, Delanie & Kennedy Trivett; her 18 nieces and 4 nephews. Kim graduated from Penn High School, attended Vogue Beauty College. Kim worked at Red Lobster in Mishawaka for the past 29 years. There she found a second family with co-workers & customers alike. So many friendships were started that held a special bond through the years. It was there she was given the name "Mama Kim" because she was like a mother for so many. She attended Osceola Grace Brethren Church, and was active in the children's ministry for many years. Kim took God's greatest commands to heart, as she clearly loved Christ, and she loved her family and those in need. She was never afraid to speak her mind, but she was extremely caring and compassionate to all. Kim loved to be in the kitchen, and you could not keep her from a family gathering. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she took great pride in raising her daughters to be the same. Although Kim had a great deal of love to go around, it was clear to those closest to her that she was married to her one true love, Greg. We miss her very much but her family is certain Kim is walking pain free in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ, in whom she trusted personally & completely, for her salvation. In keeping with her wishes, Kim was cremated. There will be memorial visitations at Osceola Grace Brethren Church, 58343 Apple Rd., Osceola, on Friday, Dec. 5th, from 2 P.M. until 7 P.M. and Saturday, Dec. 6th, from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. followed by a celebration of Kim's life. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is assisting with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers "Memorial Donations" may be given to Osceola Grace Brethren Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 3rd floor ICU at Elkhart General Hospital for the compassionate and caring way they took care of Kim and her family. Thank you to all those who held Kim & her family up with their prayers, they were answered. Published in South Bend Tribune on Nov. 30, 2014
