SOUTH BEND - Edwin J. Kucharski, 65, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday August 25, 2010, in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on April 10, 1945, in Anderson, IN, to the late Edwin S. and Wanda (Sczesny) Kucharski. He was married to Maureen Kelly, and surviving from their union are sons, Peter (Linda) and Brian T. Kucharski, both of Northfield, OH and David (Karen) Kucharski of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel and Shawna Kucharski; and great-grandchildren, Chase and Nolan. On November 16, 1996, he married Vivian Kaminsky, who survives. Also surviving are his step-sons, Matthew (Sharon) and David (companion, Tracy and her children, Brady and Riley) Kaminsky both of Granger, IN; and three step-grandchildren, Camden, Chloe and Isabella Kaminsky. Edwin was a self employed commercial artist. He also worked as an armed security guard for Dunbar Armored Car for five years and Northfield Racetrack for six years. He retired in 2003. Mr. Kucharski was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 in the funeral home. Burial will take place in All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 SR 933, South Bend, IN 46637.
