Barbara lived in South Bend for 30 years attending St Joseph's Highschool and graduated from Indiana-Purdue University with a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She also opened the first Family Nurse Practitioner office in South Bend at the consternation of the local doctors. Barbara ended up marrying her husband Mike, a St Joseph's classmate, in 1973. Barbara and her husband owned the Red Door Club and Cinnabars Discotheque. In 1979 Barbara and her husband got on their 37 foot sailboat and came to Florida settling in Fort Lauderdale where she reentered the medical community. Barbara had to suffer the pain of tragically having two children die. Our daughter Alison died from a drowning at 15 months of age in 1985 and Brittany died prematurely two years later. Fifteen years later our daughter Emma was born who is 22 years of age and attending Florida Atlantic University. Barbara developed a rare form of cancer which with all the complications associated with it caused her death. Our family wants to thank every one for their condolences.
