South Bend - Benedict Banicki, Jr., 78, passed away on Wednesday. Benedict was born January 14, 1943 in South Bend to Benedict and Alfreda (Cencelewski) Banicki, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, ad a brother, Dennis Banicki. Left to cherish Benedict’s memory are his mother, Alfreda Banicki; daughters, Rebecca Watson & Debra Kazden Delaney; grandchildren, Sean Davitt, Derek Moran, and Nick, & Amanda Kazden; and cousins. Benedict graduated from Washington High School and Wabash College. He retired from the St. Joseph County Library after many years of employment. Benedict enjoyed reading and playing chess. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
