MISHAWAKA - Betty "Nanny" Holcomb, 85, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 12:00 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014 at her home. Nanny was born on July 30, 1929 in South Bend to the late Archie and Margaret (Konopinski) Campbell and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. On September 16, 1943 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Charles Holcomb, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2001. Dick and Betty were married for 57 years. Betty cherished her role has a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo and going to the casino. She and Dick loved going fishing together. She was also a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She is survived by her daughters, Patti Sayer of Mishawaka and Diana Yoder of North Liberty; grandchildren, Nick (Rachel) Sayer and Toni Sayer, both of South Bend; great-grandchildren, Nicky Sayer of South Bend, Richard Setser-Sayer of Rose City, MI, and Lilly Sayer of Osceola. Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Bragg, and by her son-in-law, Ron Yoder. Funeral services for Betty "Nanny" Holcomb will be 3:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615, with two hours of visitation prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
