Michael A. Pasalich

SOUTH BEND - Michael A. Pasalich, 93, son of Trifko and Stephanie (Atelevich) Pasajlich, died at Southfield Village on July 4, 2009. Sergeant Mike Pasalich served in the European Theater of WW II with the third armored "Spearhead" division. Mike worked at Studebaker and retired from AM General Motors in 1980. Mike "Steers" was an avid golfer and bowler. Erskine Golf Course was his favorite and he scored a 72 on his 72nd birthday. Mike is in the South Bend Bowlers Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Novak (John) and Walter (Lod), Melvin; a sister, Angela Arch; nephew, Gary Pasalich; and a sister-in-law, Esther Pasalich. Mike Pasalich is survived by his sister-in-law, Lillian (Novak) and Mitzi (Melvin); a brother-in-law, Steve Arch (Angie); six nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews. He recognized each family member's birthday, anniversary, Christmas and special occasions with a card and gift. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10 - 12:30 Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church of the donor's choice or Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
