Pauline Billisitz

SOUTH BEND - Pauline Billisitz, 97, passed away at 3:30 am Thursday, December 15, 2011, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Pauline was born on June 17, 1914, in Gross Warasdorf, Austria, to Stefan and Elizabeth (Szusich) Miholich. Pauline was employed as a housekeeper for Our Lady of Hungary Church for 10 years. She was a member of the church and the former St. Anthony Society Ladies Auxiliary. On August 20, 1938, in South Bend, she married Stephen N. Billisitz, who died on May 29, 1987. Pauline was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Dyszkiewicz, 5 sisters, Julia Shriber, Anna Fry, Matilda Gindle, Mary Mersich and Elizabeth Weiss, and two brothers, Stephen Miholich and John Miholich. Surviving are two daughters, Elsie Billisitz of Mishawaka and Nancy (Robert) Cretsinger of Vancouver, WA; a son, Steve (Lorraine) Billisitz of North Liberty; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Pauline's family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Miller's Merry Manor, especially the nursing and activities departments, and Karen & Sandy for their care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Monday, December 19, 2011, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:45 to 11:45 am Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:45.
