On 13 oct 1919 he married Leona Peczkowsko who survives with 3 daughters, Mrs. Dolores Wieczorkowski, Mrs. Cynthia Kitt & Mrs. Jeanine Celmer all of South Bend; a stepdaughters Janet Rivas of Miami, a son Joseph of South Bend; 4 grandchildfren; 2 sisters; Mrs. Tillie Wiseman and Mrs. Maxine Klimek & a brother Ed, all of South Bend.
