SOUTH BEND - Edna C. Garreffa, 82, passed away early on Friday, November 12, in Regency Place, South Bend. Edna was born on May 30, 1928, in Courtland, AL, to John F. and Sarah E. Hutto. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Johnny Hutto. On November 18, 1951, she married W. Travis Thomas, who died on March 1, 1979. On October 29, 1988, she married Bruno Garreffa, who died on August 11, 2005. Surviving are her two daughters, Anita Poorman and Ann (Gary) Rupard; and a son, Mark (Tammy) Thomas, all of Mishawaka; stepsons, Lawrence Garreffa of Elkhart and Michael Garreffa of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren Edna was a very loving person. She moved to Michiana in 1951 and was proud to be a homemaker raising and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends. Visitation will be today, November 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 15, with visitation one hour prior in College Park Missionary Church, with Pastor Jim Bayer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, where she will be laid to rest next to W. Travis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. Inc., 314 W.
