SOUTH BEND - Liv Vera Sauge Koehler, 94, long time resident of South Bend died Sunday, May 27 in Brookdale of Granger, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Koehler was born August 10, 1923 in Oslo, Norway to the late Karen (Lund) and John Sauge and had lived in South Bend most of her life. She was also preceded in death by her son, John D. Koehler and her brother, Ole Sauge. She is survived by a cousin, Wencke J. Braathen (Dan Raven) of Chicago, IL, two nephews, and one niece. Liv was a well-known artist in the South Bend area and was a founding member of the Northern Indiana Art League. She was also a dedicated member of the Christian Science Church in South Bend, where she worked for many years in the Christian Science Reading Room. She was also known for arranging many art trips for the Art League. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger where she will be inurned next to her son. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N.
