SOUTH BEND - Ann E. Aranowski, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Memorial Hospital. Ann was born March 6, 1920 in South Bend to the late Geza and Anna (Arr) Szucs. In 1945, Ann married Richard Aranowski in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on April 23, 1979. Ann is also preceded in death by a son, Tom Aranowski; and brothers, John, Joseph, and Edward Szucs. Survivors of Ann include her daughter, Janice McClain; grandchildren, Jon (Lynda) Aranowski, Michelle Aranowski, William (Becky) McClain, and Steven McClain; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Zachary Aranowski; sisters-in-law, Irene, Evelyn and Marie Szucs; brother-in-law, Donald Aranowski, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was a homemaker; and she was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, cooking, gardening, and most of all, loved spending time with family. Visitation for Ann will be 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
