Donald Edward Piasecki (1938 - 2016)
Donald Piasecki "Papa" Donald Edward Piasecki, 77of Mill Creek, Wash. passed away peacefully at Providence Regional Medical Center, Everett from Sepsis on April 14, 2016. He was born November 27, 1938 to Ed and Irene Piasecki in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1955 and accepted a full athletic scholarship to Seattle University. In 2011, Don was inducted into the Seattle University Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to the baseball program. He was also a team member when S.U. won the Western United States basketball championship and advanced to play in the 1958 NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament's final game. Don graduated from Seattle University in 1961 and served in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, Department of Finance, assigned to the Adjutant General Corps as an Executive Officer in Headquarters Company.He concluded his military duty at Fort Lawton, Washington as a 1st Lieutenant and was then employed by Boeingfor 31 years. He and his wife, Dottie enjoyed annual trips to Florida, spending time on the beach at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Don is survived by his wife, Dottie; son, Tom Piasecki (Tami); daughters, Susan Jones (Bob); Lisa Martin (David); Mary Chris (Dan); 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was a beloved and generous "Papa". He is also survived by his brother, Norm Piasecki and sister-in-law, Barbara Rockett. He was pre-deceased by his parents. The family would like to acknowledge the Evergreen Hospital Home Health team especially Don's nurse, Darlene; and extend special appreciation to Dr. Mc Goodwin and the 8 North nursing staff of Providence for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Providence General Foundation, 916 Pacific Ave., PO Box 1067, Everett, WA 98206 or to the "Eddie O'Brien Athletic Fund at Seattle University 901 12th Ave., Seattle, WA 98122. A Memorial Service and celebration of Don's life will be held on May 14, 2016, 2 p.m. at the Chapel of St. Ignatius - Seattle University Campus, 901 12th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122.

Donald was an exceptional Athlete in college competing in Basketball and Baseball. He played basketball with teamate Elgin Baylor in the 1957 Final Four.
In his early 20s Don contracted MS and has lived with it ever since. He is truley an amazing person and has never let his disease stand in the way of his career or family
