The Niles Daily Star carried an obituary for Harold Harner on 04 Apr 1983 and it reads:

"Harold Russell Harner 51, Route 1, Box 190, Galien, died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday at the Veteran Medical Facility in Galien after a lengthy illness. He formerly worked for the Berrien County Road Commission and was a member of the American Legion's Bridgman post. Born June 16, 1931 in Baroda, He was a liflelong area resident. On April 15, 1961, in Galien, he married Patricia Pince, who survives. Also surviving are two bothers, Robert Harner of Galien and John Harner of Baroda, and a sister, Arlene Payne of Galien. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Galien Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Rodrick of the Buchanan Church of Christ officiating. Funeral arrangements by the Hoven Funeral Home."
