Henry J. Wartha, 75, of 1021 N. Adams, died at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. He was a barber and retired from the University of Notre Dame. He was born on September 08, 1902, in South Bend and lived here all his life. On May 29, 1937, he married Marie Wallisch, who survives, along with a son, Thomas M. of Vienna, Va.; a grandaughter, a sister Sister Therese Marie, O.S.B., of San Diego, and a brother, Rudolph M. of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Rev. William Neidhart, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Sunday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 2700 Lincoln Way W. Wartha was a member of the Usher's Club of Holy Cross Church, of Santa Maria Council 553, Knights of Columbus, of Stephen's Society, and of Local 927, Barber's Union.
