Stephen C. Wallisch, 49, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Steve was born February 6, 1971 in Mishawaka, a son of Donald and Evelyn (Sample) Wallisch. He grew up in South Bend and was a graduate of Clay High School. Steve was a devoted 22 year employee of Northern Indiana Food Bank; a job he truly loved. He enjoyed going to the Kroc Center and loved sports, especially Notre Dame Football. He especially loved spending time with his mom. Steve is survived by his parents including his mother and step-father, Evelyn and Daron Goad; his brother and wife, Michael and Catherine Wallisch; three nephews, Joshua Spangler, Justin Wallisch and Jonathan Wallisch; uncles, David Wallisch, Wayne Sample, John Sample and Daniel Sample; aunts, Diane Black and Marilyn Sample; a great uncle, Harold Brown; his work family including, Marijo Martinec and Theresa Thompson; his foster parents, Jeselinah and Larue Broadnax; and numerous cousins and other relatives. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents. Memorials are suggested to Northern Indiana Food Bank, 702 Chapin Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
