CRUMSTOWN - Irene T. Kania, 88, of Crums Street, Crumstown, Ind., passed away at 3 a.m., Wednesday, in her residence. Mrs. Kania was an employee of the former Wilson Brothers. She was born Nov. 27, 1907 in Crumstown, and was a lifelong area resident. On May 20, 1931 in Terre Coupee, Ind., as Irene Pietraszewski, she married Casimer Kania. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1977. Surviving is a daughter, Rita Kania of Crumstown; a son, Robert Kania of Osceola,Ind.; and three grandchildren, Sharon Kania of Mishawaka, Deanna Kania of Indianapolis and Rob Kania of Osceola. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., today, and from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., Friday. Mrs. Kania was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, and of the St. Ann's Society, also of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
