Dorothy J. Klemczewski
Aug. 16, 1926 - Oct. 30, 2012
SOUTH BEND - Dorothy J. Klemczewski, 86, residing in South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in her home. She retired in 1982 from Dainty Maid Bakery. Dorothy was born on Aug. 16, 1926, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Robert A and Anna A. (Sandamayer) Gasser, and remained a lifelong resident. On July 28, 1962, in South Bend, she married Ernest J. Klemczewski, who preceded her in death in 2001. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Pamela Hardy and Luann (James) Vance, both of Mishawaka; her son, Allen E. Reed of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Bryan (Amanda) Hardy and Bradley Vance, both of Mishawaka, and Jeffery Vance of Stockbridge, GA; three great-grandchildren, Branden Hardy, Morgan Hardy and Bayden Vance, all of Mishawaka; nieces, Mary Rosetto of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Marsha Sisk of Niles; and her nephew, Mark DeVliegher of South Bend. One sister, Kathleen DeVliegher, and two brothers, Alphonse and Robert F. Gasser, all preceded her in death. Dorothy was a very giving and loving mother and grandmother. She was always there for her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to cook and bake and was a wonderful candy maker. Dorothy graduated from Mishawaka High School. She previously attended St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Dorothy loved going to Four Winds Casino. Her favorite saying was "here today and gone tomorrow." The family wants to express their deep appreciation to the Center for Hospice for their loving care of their mother. Private family services will take place. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com. Miss Me - But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not for long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me - but let me go.
