SOUTH BEND, IN - Levada F. Szymczak, 86, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, December 5 in the Creekside Village of Mishawaka. Levada was born on July 22, 1932 in Waterloo, Alabama to the late Marvin and Mozella (Young) Smith. On November 12, 1955 in South Bend, Indiana she married the love of her life, Edward S. Szymczak. She worked for many years as a clerk for the G.L. Perry Company. Levada is survived by her loving husband, Edward S. Szymczak Sr. of South Bend, along with their 3 children, Donna Marie (John) Troyer of Mishawaka, Barbara Cribbs of South Bend, and Edward S. (Tara) Szymczak Jr. of Osceola. She was the proud and loving grandmother of 4, Tina Marie (Kris) Waltrowski, Jim (Nicole) Troyer, Steven (Devyn) Szymczak, and Stephanie Szymczak; and great-grandmother of 4, Victoria and Aaron Waltrowski, Alexis Alvarado, and Anthony Troyer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eulalia White; and brothers, Edwin and Joe Smith.Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 10, from 11:00am until 1:00pm, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Levada's life will be held at 1:00pm in the funeral chapel. She will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery of Mishawaka.
