Colleen I. Hart passed away peacefully on July 5th surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was 82. Colleen was born in Mishawaka to the late Marion and Joseph Futterknecht. She graduated from the former St. Joseph Academy in South Bend in 1948 and from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne in 1951 as a Registered Nurse. Colleen worked as a surgical nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka before taking several years off to raise her family. She resumed her nursing career in 1977 at St. Mary's College Student Health Services, retiring as Assistant Director in 1995. On November 24th, 1955, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, she married John A. Hart who survives. They were blessed with over 57 1/2 years of marriage and made many memories and friends along the way. Colleen is also survived by her 5 children, Michele A. Dasinger (Daniel), Debra A. Ignaut (James), Barbara A. Ethier (Craig), John J. Hart (Michele) and James M. Hart (Robyne). Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Emily A. Heitzmann (Casey), Daniel C. Dasinger, John Henry Dasinger, Timothy M. Dasinger, Hillary A. Bialek (Brian), James A. Ignaut (Harmony), Christopher J. Ignaut, Colin E. Ethier, Mallory E. Hart, Meghan M. Hart, Parker J. Hart; and 5 great grandchildren, Mary Mathilde Heitzmann, Brennan Bialek, Keenan Bialek, James Ignaut and Owen Ignaut. Colleen is also survived by her sister, Carol Anastasio (Filiberto); sister-in-law Freda Frazee; nieces Patti Smith, Carole Brooker, Janea Matherly and nephew and Godson Filiberto Anastasio. Colleen enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time in her garden, on the golf course and in the pool with her friends in Dunedin, FL. A loving and caring person, Colleen was an enthusiastic volunteer for many causes. She also loved board games, card games and playing dominoes. Colleen especially enjoyed summers spent with family at their cottage on Long Lake in Three Rivers, MI. Colleen and John were long time parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka where they and all five of their children were married.
