SOUTH BEND - Mary Ellen Tyler, 60, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 in her home. Mary Ellen was born March 23, 1954 in South Bend to the late Earl and Eleanor (Gadowski) Tyler. Survivors of Mary Ellen include her brothers, Gregory (Sue) Tyler of South Bend, Dennis Tyler of New Carlisle, and Gary Tyler of Osceola; and a sister, Carol Ann Trent of South Bend; nieces, Kelly Miller, Sarah (Jason) Binder, and Laura (Alex) Griffis; nephew, Jerry (Susan) Trent; and several great-nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen retired in 2012. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Mary Ellen was a member of the PNA Club, and she enjoyed bowling, softball and was an avid fan and season ticket holder of the ND Women's Basketball team. Visitation for Mary Ellen will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm. Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery.
