GRANGER - Patricia M. Kubiak, 77, residing in Granger, passed away at 3:50 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born May 12, 1938, in Bloomington, WI, to the late Peter and Rose (Herbers) Breuer. On September 2, 1961, in Bloomington, WI, she married Lawrence Kubiak, who survives. The Kubiaks made their home in the South Bend area 40+ years ago. Patricia earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee and her Master's Degree from Indiana University, South Bend. She worked as both a teacher and an aide at Christ the King Catholic Elementary School and Mary Frank Elementary School before retiring in October 2013 after 32 years in the teaching profession. In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Patricia is survived by daughters, Kim (Robert) Furlong of South Bend, Laurie (David) McWilliams of Niles, MI, Kathleen "Kitty" (Kirk) Tapp of Elkhart, Kelly Kubiak of Granger and Stacie (Gary) Humes of South Bend; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson; as well as her only sister, Shirley Wegmuller of Bloomington, WI. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robbie Furlong. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, July 20, 2015, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to Mass Monday in the church. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Patricia may be donated to any military veterans organization of the donor's choice.
