The Hartford Day Spring, Thursday, November 1, 1962, page 1 .... Funeral rites held for realtor and subdivision developer
Funeral services for Andrew Parascandolo, 69-year-old realtor and subdivision developer, were held at 10 a.m. yesterday at Immaculate Conception church. He died at 6 p.m. Sunday at his home at 401 E. Main. Parascandolo was born at Port Said, Egypt. He started in the real estate business in 1919 and was in business here for the last 35 years as a realtor appraiser and builder. Although his work was slowed because of a lengthy illness, Parascandolo continued to build new homes in the Paras Hill subdivision until a few weeks before his death. He started the 49-lot subdivision with two homes and had built a total of 32 there. In addition, he has built many other homes throughout the village. Parascandolo was a charter member of the Southwestern Michigan Board of Realtors. He was an appraiser for the Federal Housing authority and Veteran's administration.
Parascandolo is survived by his wife, Giovanns; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ceclie) Brookfield; three sons, Gerald of North Judson, Ind., Dominic of Jamaica, Long Island, N. Y., and Andrew, Jr.; two brothers, Albert of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Eugene in Italy; two sisters, Maria Nezzina in Australia and Teresa Pagagno in Italy, and 14 grandchildren. Rosary was said Tuesday night at the Calvin chapel. The Rev. Fr. Robert Stockwell officiated at the services yesterday and burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
