Funeral services for John Altowski, 73, a former South Bend resident, will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Walter Higgins CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Aftowski died Friday in the Longcliff Hospital in Logansport, Ind., where he had resided since 1927. He was born in South Bend on Jan. 5, 1888, and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Arthur Kroker of Shawano, Wis. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joseph Joackimiak, Richard Kruscynski, Anthony Ciesiolka, Lonnie Wainscott, John Garbarz and Jack Aftowski.
