MISHAWAKA - Beatrice M. “Granny” Gillette, 87, of Niles, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. She was born August 1, 1929 in Niles to Edna and George Wanko. On December 23, 1950, Beatrice married Joel Gillette at a ceremony in Niles. Beatrice is survived by her sons, Charles (Nadene) Gillette, Mike (Marcia) Gillette; daughter, Sharon (Doug Tidball) Gillette- Baker; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Gillette; parents, Edna and George; daughter, Anna Gillette; and sister, Katherine Miller.Funeral services for Beatrice will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will take place the day before on July 5, 2017 from 6-8 pm. Burial will follow the service at Portage Prairie Cemetery in Niles. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
