MISHAWAKA - Delphine A. Ferguson, 87, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday evening, March 6, 2014, in her home. Del was born March 21, 1926, in South Bend, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Kowalski) Tobolski. She grew up in South Bend. On September 18, 1948, Del married Edwin B. Ferguson in St. Hedwig Church, South Bend. The couple moved to Mishawaka in 1954. Del was a homemaker and before she had children was a clerk at Oliver Corporation in South Bend. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka and their Rosary Society. She enjoyed caring for her home and yard and spending time with her nieces. Delphine's surviving family includes her two sons, Dennis Ferguson and Thomas Ferguson; a granddaughter, Mary Ferguson; two sisters, JoAnne (Keith) Simmons and Henrietta Marosz; and several nieces and nephews. Del was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 2007; as well as brothers, Bert Tobolski, Casimer Tobolski and Joseph Tobolski; and four sisters, Sophie Jannsen, Carrie Marosz, Helen Nettrouer and Bertha Bentkowski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 14, at 10 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church or to the Center for Hospice Care. Arrangements are under the care of Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka.
