MISHAWAKA - Vera J. Lukowski, 93, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Creekside Village in Mishawaka, with her loving family at her bedside. Vera was born on May 20, 1924, in Dowagiac, MI, to the late McCarthy and Eldora (Reed) Hartsell. As the former Vera Hartsell, she married Stanley Lukowski on July 30, 1955, in Mishawaka, IN. Vera and Stanley were married for 61 years. Vera is survived by her husband, Stanley; and their daughters, Mary Lou Dobbs of Albuquerque NM, Sandy (Rob) Egendoerfer and Debbie (Steve) Moore, both from Mishawaka, IN. Vera was a loving and caring grandmother to 4 grandchildren, Shannon Dobbs, Jennifer Moore, Melanie DeMaegd and Angie Moore; great-grandmother to 3 great-grandchildren, Caden Klatt, Brittany Minix and Kaitlyn Moore. Vera was preceded in death by 2 sons, James Lee Schneer and Max Schneer, and 2 grandsons, Chris Lutzen and Steven Moore. She was also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Vera was the co-founder of the Mended Hearts Club as a 20-year member. She love to crochet and knit, but her major enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren most of all. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2017. The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.
