Gertrude B. Gloyeski, 86, of US 20, South Bend, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, in her residence. She was born on February 3, 1918, in North Liberty, Indiana, to John and Mary (Jasinski) Staszewski, who preceded her in death. On June 28, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, she married Irvin A. Gloyeski, who passed away on August 7, 1998. Surviving Gertrude are five children, David (Carol) Gloyeski of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Mary (Paul) Barnett of Boca Raton, Florida, Carol (Pat) Fagan of Newburgh, Indiana, Michael (Anita) Gloyeski of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Dale (Jie) Gloyeski of Mission Viejo, California; grandchildren, Patrick (Toni) Fagan, Sean Fagan, Erin Fagan, Karen (Pete) McRay and Ryan Gloyeski; sisters, Elenore Choinacky of South Bend, Geraldine Rothballer of South Bend and Henrietta (Martin) Steinhofer of South Bend; and brothers, Irvin (Nancy) Staszewski of South Bend, Eugene (Bernice) Staszewski of New Carlisle and Clem (Joan) Staszewski of Largo, Florida. Gertrude was a member of St. John the Baptist. She loved to knit and crochet, write poetry and work in her garden. Gertrude took great pride in her home. She was very dedicated to her family and to her dog, "Itty Bit." Visitation will be on Friday, January 14, 2005, from 2 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or the Visiting Nursing Association of St. Joseph County, 810 E.
