John Harmon Ludwig, 95, of Granger, IN., passed away at 11:02 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at the Holistic Care Group Home in Elkhart, IN. John was born on December 8, 1926, in Benton Harbor, MI., to John H. and Grace Ruth (Weyrick) Ludwig. On January 4, 1955, in Garrett, IN., John married Roma C. Krum. Roma preceded John in death on February 27, 2006. John was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Penny Parker, his brother William Ludwig, three stepsisters, Ruth Miller, Mary Highway and Betty Siddall, two stepbrothers, Clarence Bassett and Franklin Bassett and his sister-in-law Edith BarrettJohn is survived by his stepson, Donald R. Neukom, his son, Larry Lyle Ludwig, his grandchildren; Cynthia Neukom, Michelle Neukom, Donald Neukom and Cheryl Ludwig. John graduated from Benton Harbor High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II being honorably discharged on May 26, 1946. John retired from Indiana Bell in 1982 after 33 years of service as an installer. Funeral services for John will be on Tuesday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka with Pastor Larry Chrisman officiating. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery Mishawaka where V.F.W. Post # 360 will conduct military honors.
