MISHAWAKA - Frances I. Konopinski, 88, of Mishawaka, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. The Sullivan, Indiana native was born November 18, 1925 to William & Maggie (Davis) Petree, who preceded her in death. On June 30, 1944 she married James S. Konopinski in South Bend. James preceded her in death on March 20, 1978 after 33 years of marriage. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was also preceded by her brothers, Ernest "Pete" Petree, Edgar Petree & William J. Petree, Jr. and her sisters, Myrtle McCammon & Betty Brewer. Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting dolls, stamps & coins and also enjoyed working word puzzles. Frances is survived by her daughter, Betty L. (John) Bazan of Mishawaka; son, James S. (Nancy) Konopinski, Jr. of Osceola; grandchildren, Eric Konopinski and Sylvia (Seldon) Rowe, both of South Bend, Christy (Shane) Betzer of Osceola, Jenny (Greg) Doms of New Carlisle, and Linda (Dustin Martin) Corbin of Oxford, AL; 10 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and her sister, Viola Krahulec of Mishawaka. Funeral Services 11:00 Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
