SOUTH BEND - Frances Kazmierczak, 91, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011. Frances was born September 18, 1919, in LaPorte, Indiana, to Henry and Mary (Lizak) Hynek. Frances was a beautician from 1938 until retiring in July 2011, as the owner of Fran's Beauty Salon in South Bend. Frances married Harry J. Hechlinski on April 30, 1938. He died August 16, 1964. She then married Edward Kazmierczak on February 12, 1966. He died May 1, 2001. Surviving are her son, Robert (Nancy) Hechlinski of Bloomington, Indiana; and her sister, Katherine Zarr of LaPorte, Indiana. Sisters, Julia Beehler, Sophia Cummins, Anne Patterson, and brothers, Joseph and Henry Hynek, all preceded her in death. Frances had been a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church since 1939, the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary and Harvest House. She was also a member of Bowlers Country Club where she formerly bowled on Tuesday Noon and Tuesday Night leagues, and golfed on a Thursday Night league, Elbel Golf course Tuesday morning league; ZB Falcons, Nest 80, and the Polish Business Ladies, were she held every office possible from 1947 - 2000. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
