Oral History Howard Siderits

My Grandmother ( Paulina ) never remarried after the divorce from Edward. She wore her wedding band until the day of her funeral as she did not believe in Divorce although she was not a religious woman. As a young woman she had black hair and eyes and was darkly colored. She spoke German, English and Polish fluently. Her first husband "Forbusch" died in Euorpe and her maiden name is lost in time..

Mrs. Paulina Siderits, 77, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday in the Beatty Memorial Hospital at Westville, Ind., where she had been a patient for the past two years. Mrs. Siderits was born Feb. 24, 1880, in Kreis Strelno, Germany, and came to the United States in 1909.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Liszewski and Mrs. Josephine Radecki, both of South Bend; five sons, Henry Siderits, of Edwardsburg, Wilbur Siderits, of Niles, Frank Siderits, of South Bend, John Siderits, of Miami, Fla., and Edward Siderits, of Los Angeles, Calif., 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Murphy, pastor of the United Missionary Church, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
