SOUTH BEND - Michael J. Strantz, age 59, third-born child of Robert and Trudy (Muszynski) Strantz, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013. His strong, loving presence will be intensely missed by his family and friends. Mike was born in South Bend, Indiana, lived in Colorado for 21 years, and moved back to his hometown in 2000 to be with the growing family he cared for so deeply. Mike was a godly man, daily striving to live his Christian faith. He was sensitive and caring toward his family, friends, and strangers in need, and gave of himself effortlessly. Uncle Mike took tremendous pleasure in treating his nieces and nephews to fun adventures and the latest blockbuster. Most recently, spending time with his two-year-old nephews, Brayden and Ayedin, gave him a great deal of enjoyment and fulfillment. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family and had the pleasure to sink his lines in Sitka, Alaska. He was also a passionate Notre Dame fan, and a great storyteller. Mike is survived by his mother, Trudy Strantz of Mishawaka; four sisters, Peg Strantz of Mishawaka, Elizabeth Strantz of South Bend, Mary Beth Rosheck of South Bend and Caroline (James) Drummond of Equador, South America; three brothers, Chuck (Sue) Strantz of Granger, Eric (Suzan) Strantz of Mishawaka and Christopher (Genelyn) Caduff of CA; and his sister-in-law, Laurie Strantz of CA. Mike's father, Robert M. Strantz, sister, Judith Strantz, and brother, Frank Strantz, preceded him in death. Services for Mike will be on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11 am at The Vineyard Church, 16219 Jackson Road, Mishawaka, IN, just west of Bremen Highway.
