SOUTH BEND - Bela Nagy, 85, passed away at 1:45 pm Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Golden Living Center. He was born on February 2, 1927 in Gyor, Hungary to Frank and Terezia (Arszin) Nagy. Bela retired from Bendix where he was employed for 27 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church and collected antique farm machinery. On February 15, 1957 in Our Lady of Hungary Church he married the former Joan Pinterics, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Knepp of South Bend; two sons, Francis (Cindy) Nagy and William Nagy, both of South Bend; 4 grandchildren, Dawn (Scott) Keller, April Nagy, Kevin (Tara) Knepp and Stephen Nagy; a sister, Klari (Sandor) Barath of Keszthel, Hungary; and a sister-in-law, Irene Nagy of South Bend. Bela was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Nagy; and two brothers, Louis F. Nagy and Steve Nagy. Cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial of his ashes will take place at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue is handling the arrangements.
