SOUTH BEND - Donald Frederick Daut, age 74, of South Bend, passed away on June 1, 2017. He was born April 7, 1943, to Carl and Caroline (Karnuski) Daut in Nassau, New York. On April 10, 1965, Don married Joyce Reynolds. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2005. Don worked for many years as a truck driver. He was a member of the Democratic Club and AMVETS. He was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed “hanging” with his buddies at their favorite restaurant. Don was very competitive and loved to play games. Some of his favorites were Ping Pong, Horseshoes, and Pool to name a few. Don is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Jeff) Flowers of Granger; grandsons, Jeff (Tina) Flowers and Nicholas Flowers; one great-grandson, Cohen Flowers; and “adopted” daughter, Deanna Wardlow; and his two four-legged companions, Aubre and Queenie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; and a grandson, Ryan Moore. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 4-6 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. There will be a funeral service in Donald's honor on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 10 AM at the funeral home, with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
