Julia Ciszczon 96, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Center for Hospice Care of Mishawaka. Julia was born on September 5, 1926, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late Joseph and Anna (Knutelska) Ciszczon. Julia, the matriarch of the family, is survived by her devoted sister, Emily Ciszczon of Mishawaka, IN; and 3 brothers, Joseph (Julie Ann) Ciszczon of Mishawaka, IN, Ed (Bonnie) Ciszczon of Phoenix, AZ, Michael (Carolyn) Ciszczon of South Carolina. Julia was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Roberts and Stella Chamberlain, along with six brothers, Walter, Ted, Julius, Henry, Stan and Steve Ciszczon. Julia was an aunt, great-aunt, and great-great aunt to so many who are left with beautiful memories of special times spent together. Julia was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, IN. She retired as a bookkeeper from the Wheelabrator Corporation after many years of service. Julia loved gardening, traveling, and making memories going out to dinner with family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the 6th floor nursing staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka and the Center for Hospice Care-Raclin House staff. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 3 pm-6 pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Rosary will be recited at 4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 12, 2022, at St. Piux X Catholic Church, Granger with Monsignor William Schooler officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to mass in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, St. Pius X Catholic Church, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
