MISHAWAKA - Josephine Perri, 88, of Mishawaka, passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2011 in Hospice House, Elkhart, following a brief illness. Josephine was born December 22, 1922 in Elkhart, a daughter of the late Stephen and Eva (Csontos) Kish. She grew up in Elkhart and was a graduate of Elkhart Central High School. Josephine married Dominic Perri on June 29, 1946 in St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple made Mishawaka their home. Josephine was employed many years at CTS in Elkhart, retiring in 1983. Her church affiliations included St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka and Gospel Center Missionary Church in South Bend. Josephine was an active member of the Battell Center in Mishawaka and enjoyed being a part of the Mishawaka Alumni Association. She loved vegetable and flower gardening. Josephine was always thinking of others. Her positive and thoughtful nature will truly be missed by all who loved her.Josephine's surviving family includes her two children, Samuel (Sue) Perri and Betty Jo (Kenric) McCrory; eight grandchildren, Jamie Cogan, Julie (Mark) Spiller, Becky (Alan) Reisinger, Brian (Polly) Perri, Jill Perri, Eric McCrory, Shana (Jon) Popovich and Kara (Mason) Lowenstein; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Clara Jaworski; a sister-in-law, Connie Bilancio; a brother-in-law, Pat (Rose) Perri; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Lloyd Havens and Lois Fuller; and Josephine's wonderful neighborhood friends. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic; two sisters, Eva Stockberger and Elizabeth Brown; and three brothers, Steve, Ervin and Charles Kish. Friends may spend time with Josephine's family Sunday from 2 - 6 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. Services honoring Josephine's life will be held Monday at 10 am in the funeral home with Pastor Lance Nothstine and Pastor Don Francis officiating. Entombment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions in Josephine's memory are suggested to the Battell Center in Mishawaka.
