Charles Richard Dreibelbis 76, of Barron Lake Road, Niles died of natural causes Friday at 11 p.m. at his home. Dreibelbis was born Sept. 25, 1927 in Niles to Charles Reginald and Elsie (Berringer) Dreibelbis who preceded him in death. He was married to Patricia A. (Schrumpf) in December of 1947 in Niles. She preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 2001. Survivors include a son, Joseph (Annette) Dreibelbis of Niles; a daughter, Linda (Leonard) Elliott of Elkhart, Ind; a sister, Shirley Kloko of Niles; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family gathered privately for services, officiated by The Rev. Dr. Ronald H. Wakeman of First Presbyterian Church. Burial took place at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cass County Hospice.

Charles' Dreibelbis' linage is Charles Reginald Dreibelbis, Julia L. Steele, John Silias, Jacob, Philip and Palatinate immigrant George. He moved to Niles, MI in 1920, He married Elsie Beringer. Children born to this union were Shirley Elaine Dreibelbis, born 1924, Charles Dreibelbis, born 1927, Linda Dreibelbis, and Joseph Dreibelbis.
