Del John Kaniewski, 69, of Waycross, Ga., formerly of South Bend, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, Waycross, after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 8, 1911, in South Bend, and had lived here most of his life, moving to Waycross nine years ago. He was retired director of manufacturing for the aerospace division of the Bendix Corp. His wife, the former Adeline Urbanski, survives. Also surviving are a son, Del Steven of Algonquin, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Ujdak and Mrs. Irene Antonelli, both of South Bend; and a brother William of South Bend. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grace Episcopal Church, Waycross. Rev. Wallace Thompson, associate pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Waycross. There will be no visitation. The Miles-Odum Funeral Home, Waycross is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Grace Church Book of Remembrance., Waycross. He was a member of the church, the Portage Lodge 675 F&AM of South Bend, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and the Washington Chapter 195 Order of the Eastern Star, Hamilton, Ohio.
