Mishawaka-Pauline “Polly” Savadori, 97, of Statesville, NC, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, October 02, 2017. She resided at the Autumn Care Nursing Home in Statesville, NC. Pauline was born on July 12, 1920 in South Bend as the daughter of Clement and Elizabeth (Harringer) Hauger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Her daughter, Pam McCorkle who passed away on December 28, 2013, and three sisters, Joan Bowser, Dorothy Artusi and Geraldine Hauger. On July 26, 1941 in South Bend, she married Gino Savadori. He preceded her in death on February 29, 1984. Surviving is her daughter, Jane (Stanley) Spice of Statesville, NC; three grandchildren, Wendy (McCorkle) Koloc, Leigh (McCorkle) Stinnette and Geoffrey Spice; four great grandchildren; one step grandchild; one step great grandchild; and a brother, Clem Hauger of Elkhart.. Pauline worked at Morfam from 1969 - 1983. She was a faithful member of St. Bavo Catholic Church for many years prior to her moving from Indiana. Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Early in their marriage, Pauline’s husband, Gino, taught her to make Italian dishes. Throughout the years, relatives and friends were invited to gather around their dining room table. Pauline would lovingly serve her outstanding homemade ravioli. During these wonderful dinners, everyone shared plenty of lively conversation, laughter and a good bottle of wine. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to Autumn Care of Statesville for their excellent and compassionate care that they gave Pauline during the years that she resided there. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 9 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, October 9, in St. Bavo Catholic Church with Rev. Pete Pacini CSC officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
