NORTH LIBERTY - Anne Z. Hudak, 95, of North Liberty, passed away on Monday, December 7th, at Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, with her family by her bedside. She was born on June 27, 1920, in Bondsville, MA, to the late Martin and Apolonia (Bak) Wadas. On June 18, 1949, in Bondsville, MA, she married Bernard V. Hudak, who preceded her in death on September 16, 1992. Anne and Bernard moved to North Liberty in 1962, coming from Andover, Connecticut. Anne is survived by three sons, Michael M. Hudak of Valparaiso, IN, David (Judy) Hudak of Charlestown, WV, and Gregory (Connie) Hudak of Cedar Rapids, IA; a daughter, Nancy (Norm) Shafer of North Liberty, IN; a sister, Alice (Chester) Mercik of Shrewsbury, MA; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Edward, Stanley and William Wadas. Anne excelled at cooking, baking, sewing, and was an avid Bingo player. The family would like to thank the staff at Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton for their exceptional care and kindness. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 10th, at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel,” located at State Rd 23/W. Ireland Rd., South Bend. Services will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Anthony L. Spanley officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the charity of their choice . Condolences may be expressed online through our website: www.hanleyandsonsfuneralhomes.com.
