South Bend - South Bend - Stephen Gondocs, 79, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 with his family and friends at his side. He was granted his wings to go to heaven and be with his loving wife Carol. Stephen was born October 23, 1941, to the late Joseph & Vera (Horvath) Gondocs. Steve was also preceded in death by his wife Carol; brother, Joseph (Veronica) Gondocs; and nephew, Robert Gondocs. Left to cherish the memory of Steve, is his daughter, Sandra (John) Smeltzer; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Steve enjoyed working at the Pickerel Nursery raising Roses. He then went to work at AM General and retired after 30 years. Steve and Carol loved camping and fishing together. Most of all, they enjoyed having their Super Bowl parties for 40 years. Visitation for Stephen will be at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service beginning at 7:30 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Deer Run Church of Christ.
