[N11968] Florence Frisoni
Dec. 26, 1922 - Nov. 7, 2014

MISHAWAKA - Florence Helen Frisoni (nee Beelaert), 91, of Mishawaka, surrounded by her loving caregivers and Hospice, joined her beloved husband in heaven on November 7, 2014. She was born December 26, 1922 in New Carlisle, Indiana to August and Marguerite Beelaert. Her early years were spent on the family farm in New Carlisle until a fire destroyed the home and farm. She moved to the west end of Mishawaka where she attended St. Bavo School. During World War II, she worked at Ball Band where she was known for eating huge quantities of carrots. She and Ugo were prolific letter writers from 1941-1945 while separated by war service. On January 11, 1945, Florence married Ugo G. Frisoni and lived in Mishawaka until Studebaker closed. They moved to Detroit and returned to Mishawaka after Ugo's retirement. Many winters were enjoyed in Florida. She was then primary caregiver through Ugo's lengthy experience with Alzheimer's. With her husband, Ugo, they belonged to several social organizations such as the De Amici's Club and the BK Club, Mr. and Mrs., and the Hoosierettes. While they resided in Detroit, Florence often volunteered at the hospital. Their main priority was always St. Bavo Catholic Church. Florence was the epitome of a loving friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room. Holidays revolved around her unbelievable cooking and baked goods. She always enjoyed going out to lunch or dinner with her life-long friends, especially a Saturday night after Mass. She was a lady of fashion and always dressed with a classy flair. Her favorite hobby was shopping. A beloved grandmother, her grandchildren always looked forward to spending time with her, getting one of her world famous back scratches, or chatting with her on the phone. No matter the miles between, she always had a listening ear and a sharp witted response that would leave you smiling. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Ugo, her parents, Marguerite and August Beelaert and her brother, Emiel. She is survived by one son, Alan (Jean) of Naperville, IL and one daughter, Denise (David) Miller of Placitas, NM; eight grandchildren: Scott, Christi, Todd, Matt, Lisa, Kathleen, Elizabeth and Colleen; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five nieces and five nephews and many dear friends. Special thanks to those who cared for her: Anita, Jenny, Holly, Mollie, Alyssa, Jayne, Patti, Terry, Sally and Heartland Hospice. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 11 from 3-7 p.m. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 12 at 10:00 at St. Bavo Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, BK Building Fund at 721 S. West St., Mishawaka, IN 46544, and Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana at 922 E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN 46617. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit our website at www.hahnfuneralhomes.com. ublished in South Bend Tribune on Nov. 10, 2014
